About the Editor
My name is Amber, and I love a good story!
From being read to as a baby (thank you, Mama!), to tutoring high school students,
to voraciously reading and reviewing Christian fiction books, to being the go-to girl in my hall at college when it came time for
last-minute proofreading of papers, to writing poetry and working on a couple of my own novels...I've always loved the written word.
So starting my own editing business was a way for me to put that passion to a purpose. I have a B.S. degree in English from Corban
University, and a heart for making books the best that they can be!
If you would like to learn more about me and my writing
and reading habits, visit my personal blog, Seasons of Humility, or check out my posts on The Borrowed Book (a group blog run by authors
Elizabeth Ludwig, Sandra Moore, Candice Prentice, Yvonne Anderson, and Shannon McNear). You can find my debut inspirational historical
romance novel on Amazon.
- This business is geared toward editing fiction: short stories, novellas, and novels. If you have a non-fiction project you need help
with, feel free to contact me - but realize that I'll have to decide which projects to accept on a case-by-case basis.
- I read mostly
Christian fiction and clean Young Adult (YA) literature, so keep in mind that I work best within my area of reading expertise.
However, I'll accept any "clean" fiction (i.e.: no explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or strong language).
- If you send me a
hard copy, your manuscript should be double-spaced with at least 1" margins all-around so that I have plenty of room to write on it,
and the font should be readable. I can also use the "Track Changes" feature on Word documents if you'd prefer to e-mail me your manuscript. Remember
that when you are soliciting a literary agent or an editor with a publishing company, you should always check his or
her specific formatting guidelines before sending in your work.
